The one and only ARI LENNOX is celebrating the release of her new album, “Vacancy.” Marking her third studio record and her first release with Interscope, the “BMO” hitmaker is all set to head back to the road, performing all the hits, deep cuts, and new music in her first tour in three years. Lighting up the stage with her wonderful R&B tunes, it’s bound to be an unforgettable celebration. With 30+ dates scheduled for the North American trek, it’s gonna be a wild celebration as she chronicles 34 years of life — exploring all the feelings that attempted to fill a void, that sort of ‘vacancy' in her heart.
Ari Lennox released her third LP “Vacancy” last January 23 via Interscope Records. About the album, she shared a brief background about its title with Jennifer Hudson:
“Vacancy, the title, it really is that. There’s a space — a void — that I would love for someone to feel, but the reality is people be in and out like a gosh darn hotel,” she said. “So I’ve just been writing a lot about my infatuation phases all the last 34 years of my life.”
While describing the album as her “soft girl era,” Lennox explores newfound growth. In this new era, the singer also shared how she’s practicing sobriety. “I feel a lot clearer. I can’t imagine going back… I just feel a lot more in control,” Lennox explained.
The album’s singles include “Soft Girl Era,” “Vacancy,” “Under the Moon,” and “Twin Flame.”
“Vacancy is rooted in experience and features the most skillful vocal performances of Lennox’s career,” Pitchfork shared in a review.
From her Shea Butter Baby breakthrough to getting it on with “Age/Sex/Location,” her new album marks her soulful transformation while retaining the beautiful energies she was always known for. While she takes a look back to all the attempts to fill that void, her fans have always been right by her side.
