Method Man and Redman are hitting the road to party like it's the turn of the millennium once again. The duo has a stop at Toyota Oakdale Theatre on Friday, May 29th. They've tapped The Lox to come in and open for them. If we know anything about how these Method Man-led shows have played out over the years, though, it's likely they're all going to share the stage.
Not only is the music going to offer that tour back to the late 90s and into the 2000s, when rap beats were real and autotune was just a fantasy. The dynamic of the show is also going to make you feel like you're at one of those underground clubs in New York where Method Man and the Wu-Tang Clan got things started. It's going to be quite a year for Method Man. This slate of shows with Redman reprises a duo that began in the late 90s and into the 2000s. You might expect to hear quite a few tracks from 1999's Blackout album at this stop at the Toyota Oakdale Theatre. On the side, though, he's also going to be a part of the Wu-Tang Clan's farewell tour. Did you ever think that a live performance from these guys could get emotional? This stop in Wallingford, though, is more of a door into what the future holds for Method Man. He's even collaborated on a new track titled "Visions." We've mentioned this already, don't expect this concert to follow a typical format. You know, when three performers each have their own set. There's a chance that The Lox is actually the one with a big opportunity here. His job's gonna be to get the crowd into it. To do that, he'll bring his "Money Power & Respect." This is by no means an improvised opening act! From there, Method Man and Redman will appear on stage. Their live renditions of popular tracks might just as good as some of the freestyling they'll be doing up there.
Sections 102 and 205 might be the best of the bunch. These are the ones located right smack in the middle of the theater. It's where you'll want to be if you want to have the best views of the performance. Some of the balcony seats could be oddly satisfying as well. Sure, you won't have the up close and personal feel, but they are comfortable spots with broad views. That's never a bad thing to have.
