Miguel’s new album has been anticipated by fans for quite a while now. “Caos” follows 2017’s Gold-certified “War & Leisure,” which featured a slew of hits — “Sky Walker” feat. Travis Scott, and “Come Through and Chill” feat. J. Cole and Salaam Remi. As fans patiently waited for new music, Miguel’s been brewing up something special, one that’ll definitely get the ground shaking as he launches a huge comeback.
Taking a look back at his heritage and reflecting on the current state of the world, it’s a full-circle record that packs Miguel’s heart and iconic groove. “I needed to come to terms with things that were not working and find a better way,” the singer told GRAMMY.com “At the core of it was avoidance… It's easy to lean into that and forget there's internal work that has to happen.”
Exploring self-love and coming to terms with life’s harsh realities, Caos shares a version of Miguel that’s more raw, emotional, and introspective — a distinct change from the previous lush and sensual notes he’s known for. “Everything I've been through over the past eight years… refined me in ways I never could've predicted,” he added, sharing how he hopes it can be felt in his music.
In a review by Rolling Stone, the album is said to be “about searching for meaning as you try your best to process a world on fire — and it’s a mood that should resonate with any honest listener.”
