The world-famous, beloved two-act ballet, Nutcracker, with masterful music by Russian composer Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky, needs little introduction. The magical story, set on Christmas Eve, at the foot of a Christmas tree, in the mind of a child – an adaption of E.T.A. Hoffman's short story, "The Nutcracker and the Mouse King" – has been transporting audiences to a magical universe filled with breathtaking and expressive art for more than a century. With classical favorites such as “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy” and “Waltz of the Flowers”, this beautiful ballet has been at the forefront of American Christmas festivities since the 1960s.

Choreographer and ballet master Viktor Davyduik has woven together a wonderful tapestry of classical ballet, visual splendor, acrobatics, and enchanting puppetry to tell the timeless and beloved story of Clara and the Nutcracker Prince. Davyduik masterfully blends classical and contemporary ballet, bringing a freshness to the stage as never seen before.
The principals for the upcoming festive season run of Nutcracker! Magical Christmas Ballet includes award-winning, world-class dancers to the likes of gold medallist Batur Buklu, Karyna Shatkovskaya, and 2022 Honoured Artist of Ukraine, Olena Pecheniuk, as well as award-winner Kazakhstani, Rustem Imangaliyev, among others.
The landmark Toyota Oakdale theatre, located in Wallingford, Connecticut, will be transformed into the foot of a Christmas tree as audiences embark on a magical journey with Clara, the Nutcracker Prince, the Sugar Plum Fairy, Uncle Drosselmeyer and the Mouse King. The amazing domed theatre has a seating capacity of 4,800 and also offers seasonal VIP boxes.
