About Only Built 4 Cuban Linx

Raekwon's debut album  "Only Built 4 Cuban Linkx" was released back in August 1995, hitting the fourth spot on the Billboard 200. Met with rave reviews from critics & listeners, the record became largely recognized as a classic in the genre, as Raekwon is often described as one of the pioneers of mafioso rap. Sharing tales of crime, trafficiking, and making a life comeback, it's an album inspired by mobs and kung-fu movies, depicting a "crime mafia story". Through struggle and success, it's an album shaped by intense life realities.

About the record's name, fellow Wu-Tang Clan member Ghostface Killah shared that it was inspired by "The chain we used to rock back in the days was Cuban links," he told XXL. "So Rae came up with the theory, like a Cuban link is one of the roughest chains to break. Only Built 4 Cuban Linx..."

About The Infamous

When "The Infamous" came out back in '95, Mobb Deep found massive fanfare and success. Solidifying their place in the hardcore hip-hop circuit, their tales of street life out of New York's Queensbridge Houses became an iconic piece of history. Characterized by its dark production and heavy use of sample-based mixes by Havoc, it was a standout album at the time, and continues to amaze new listeners today. Rolling Stone even included the masterpiece in their list of the "500 Greatest Albums of All Time".
